.DISCUSSION... Issued at 1207 PM CDT Wed Sep 17 2025
An unsettled weather pattern continues across Deep South Texas. Daytime heating in combination with abundant tropical moisture and a series of disturbances passing overhead will keep rain and thunderstorm chances in the forecast through mid-week. The rain chances will typically remain highest (30-60%) along and east of US 281/I-69C. Much of this activity will be along the seabreeze, with peak timing for precipitation in the early afternoon into the early evening.
Increased cloud cover and rain chances, primarily during peak afternoon heating, will keep temperatures near normal through mid- week.
Onshore flow and slightly elevated seas will maintain a moderate risk of rip currents along the beaches of the lower Texas coast through Thursday.

.AVIATION... (18Z TAFS) Issued at 1207 PM CDT Wed Sep 17 2025
VFR conditions will prevail through the TAF period. For the remainder of the afternoon shower and thunderstorms will be in the vicinity of all aerodromes, but confidence is low on whether this activity directly impacts the airports, thus kept VCTS in the forecasts into this evening. If any of the airports do see any rain/thunderstorms visibility could briefly drop to MVFR/IFR.

.MARINE... Issued at 1207 PM CDT Wed Sep 17 2025
Generally favorable conditions with mostly light to moderate winds and seas of 2 to 4 feet. Rain and thunderstorm chances through the week will continue on the waters off the lower Texas coast. Any shower or thunderstorm activity will lead to localized increased winds and seas.
