...Afternoon Area Forecast Discussion...
.SHORT TERM... (This afternoon through Friday) Issued at 231 PM EDT Thu Sep 11 2025
Key Messages:
- Dry conditions persist with warm daytime temperatures after cool morning lows.
No significant changes will occur through the short term forecast period as dry weather prevails. Morning lows on Friday will largely range through the 60s, a bit warmer than the last couple of mornings. The expansive midlevel ridge extending from Texas into the Plains will gradually expand eastward Friday while a trough axis extends from the Mid-Atlantic into the Carolinas and southwestward. Meanwhile, at the surface, high pressure will extend from Quebec southward across the eastern US, keeping us high and dry. Highs on Friday will not change much over today`s conditions, largely ranging from the mid to upper 80s.

.LONG TERM... (Saturday morning through next Wednesday) Issued at 231 PM EDT Thu Sep 11 2025
Key Messages:
- Dry pattern continues through the middle of next week.
- High temps expected in the 80s and lower 90s.
A fairly stagnant weather pattern continues through next week keeping things dry through at least day 7. Upper level troughing slowly drifts eastward with surface high pressure remaining fairly stationary along the eastern seaboard. Minimal moisture return expected over the next 7 days so at most we may see a day or two with increased cloud cover. With dewpoints expected in the 50s to lower 60s, and afternoon highs in the 80s to near 90, Min relative humidity values will stay in the 30% to 35% range through the period.
