.DISCUSSION... Issued at 1201 AM CDT Sat Sep 13 2025
Persistence will be the forecast for Saturday as high pressure remains dominate over the region: high temperatures generally in the low to mid-90s, lows generally in the low to mid-70s, mostly clear skies, and little to no chance of rain. This description will be true for most the area through at least midweek next week, with the exception of daily slight chance of coastal showers each day starting Sunday along the sea breeze as the high pressure begins to weaken. A brief downpour could be possible if a thunderstorm is able to develop.
As we head into the second half of the week, a bit more uncertainty makes its way into the forecast. Guidance is indicating of ridging building over the Desert Southwest producing northwest flow across eastern Texas. This pattern has been indicative in the past of bringing clusters of showers or storms into SE Texas as shortwave troughs embedded in the flow aloft pass through. As of this time, SE Texas continues to show little to no chance of rain through the end of next week (with the exception of the isolated coastal activity), however we will need to watch to see if any of those weak disturbances move through.

.MARINE... Issued at 1201 AM CDT Sat Sep 13 2025
Light to occasionally moderate east to southeasterly flow (sustained 10-15kt, occasional gusts to 20kt) will persist through the start of next week with seas generally between 2-4ft.
Little to no rain chances are expected through Saturday, but could begin to see isolated showers and storms over the coastal waters beginning as early as Sunday with slight chances continuing through the week.
The persistent onshore flow will lead to higher than normal high tides through at least the start of next week, peaking at around 3.3- 3.5ft above MLLW at times of high tide.
