The warm summer-like weather will continue through Friday. An
upper level ridge remains centered over west Texas today, and will
continue to be the dominant feature for our weather through the
next 24 hours. This will keep our weather dry and warm, with highs
again in the mid to upper 90s on Friday, and lows in the mid 60s
to near 70. Winds will generally be southerly at 5 to 15 mph, with
mainly clear skies, although there will be another chance for low
clouds to affect the southern half of the forecast area during
the morning hours Friday.

Continued warm and mainly dry conditions expected into next week.
The upper ridge weakens slightly Saturday as the its center moves
into East Texas. An isolated and an isolated showers is possible,
mainly in western portions of the Concho Valley.
Mid to late next week, an upper trough moves into the Central
Plains. This could again bring an isolated shower or thunderstorm,
but chances are again scarce, as weak upper ridging largely remains
in place. Temperatures will remain similar into next week, with
mid 90s in the Big Country and upper 80s/lower 90s to the south.

Skies will be clear going into tonight. Boundary layer moisture
indications from one of the short-range models suggests that our
southern and southeastern counties should have a little more
coverage of low clouds in the 11Z-15Z time frame Friday morning,
compared to what occurred this morning. Carrying MVFR ceilings at
KSOA and KJCT, with a Tempo inclusion at KBBD. Otherwise, VFR
conditions and mainly clear skies are expected through the next 24
hours. Southeast winds are initially somewhat gusty early this
evening, but wind speeds will decrease toward sunset. On Friday,
southeast winds will increase to 8-12 knots by mid-to-late
morning. Occasional gusts of 18-21 knots are expected in the
afternoon.
