* Low pressure brings breezy afternoon winds, below average temperatures, and isolated precipitation through tomorrow.
* Dry conditions and increasing temperatures return this weekend and early next week.

.DISCUSSION...through Wednesday.
Breezy and relatively cool conditions persist as an area of low pressure slowly tracks east through the Great Basin today and tomorrow. Current satellite imagery shows cumulus development over the Sierra, White Mountains, and the mountains of Esmeralda County. CAMs suggest that isolated thunderstorms will develop over this area this afternoon and evening, some of which may produce frequent lightning and gusty outflow winds. Another round is possible tomorrow before dry and descending air arrives on the back side of the low. Breezy southerly to southwesterly winds will decrease this evening and should be lighter tomorrow as the center of the low moves overhead. Tomorrow should be the coolest day of the forecast period, with highs 5 to 10 degrees below average for this time of year. For Las Vegas, highs will be in the upper 80s to low 90s.
Heights aloft rise as the low tracks east over the next few days. Temperatures gradually increase in response, with highs reaching near to above normal values Monday through Wednesday. This means highs in the mid to upper 90s for Las Vegas. Besides increasing temperatures, expect light winds and dry conditions.

.AVIATION...For Harry Reid...For the 00Z Forecast Package...Gusty southwesterly winds are expected to persist through the rest of the afternoon, decreasing to less than 10 knots out of the southwest after sunset. Light and variable winds develop tomorrow morning and should continue through most of the day. Dry conditions and mostly clear skies prevail through the forecast period.
For the rest of southern Nevada, northwest Arizona and southeast California...For the 00Z Forecast Package...Gusty southerly to southwesterly winds with gusts peaking in the 20 to 25 knot range can be expected around the Mojave Desert through sunset, decreasing at most locations overnight. There is a chance of showers and thunderstorms in the Sierra late this afternoon and evening, some of which may move into the vicinity of KBIH. These may bring lightning, gusty and erratic winds, and lower ceilings. Lofted smoke may move into the eastern Sierra and Owens Valley overnight, reducing slantwise visibility.
