.DISCUSSION... Issued at 1022 PM CDT Thu Sep 11 2025

An unsettled weather pattern continues across Deep South Texas as ample moisture and weak impulses moving over the region will continue to bring rain chances to Deep South Texas and the RGV, especially in the afternoon. Rain chances will remain 20-50% through Saturday, with a slight decrease in POPs on Sunday (20-40%). A weak coastal trough begins to set up late this weekend and will linger through next week with rain chances Monday through Friday of 30-60%. The highest chance of rainfall will coincide with the heating of the day and the sea breeze.

Temperatures will remain near normal each day with heat indices of 100 to 105 degrees through Saturday, then falling to upper 90s to around 100 degrees for the remainder of the forecast period. Heat Risk will be generally Minor (level 1 out of 4) with pockets of Moderate (level 2 out of 4), mainly across the lower and mid Valley, for the forecast period.

A moderate risk of rip currents is expected at area beaches over the next few days.
