The forecast period begins with a ridge over the western CONUS, a closed low over southern California, and an upper trough over central Kansas. This morning, the trough will push to the east. A few light showers associated with it may still be possible through the morning hours, particularly for areas along and south of I-80. A few sprinkles may be possible in the afternoon. Temperatures will be very pleasant, topping out in the mid to upper 70s for most areas. A few localized 80s will be possible along the Nebraska-South Dakota border.

Quieter weather is in the forecast heading into the latter part of the week. The ridge shifts east over the Central Plains Thursday, settling in through the start of next week. Dry conditions are expected through the end of the forecast. Expect highs to be in the upper 70s to low 80s. Lows will be in the 50s and 60s.

VFR conditions prevail through the forecast period. Winds will be light and variable through early afternoon at KOFK and through the period for KLNK and KOMA. Clouds will decrease through the morning, becoming mostly sunny by 00Z. There will be a chance for a few sprinkles near KOFK this morning and in the vicinity of KLNK and KOMA in the afternoon.
