.SHORT TERM... (Tonight through Wednesday night) Issued at 1227 PM CDT Tue Sep 30 2025

A weak upper level trough is moving across TX. The low level pressure field is not well defined and winds across our CWA were light and variable. The airmass remains dry with dewpoints in the 50s. An upper ridge will push over the southern plains tonight. This will continue our dry weather pattern with good diurnal temperature swings. Cool mornings and warm/hot afternoon for the next two days.

&&

.LONG TERM... (Thursday through next Tuesday) Issued at 1227 PM CDT Tue Sep 30 2025

Thursday will be a continuation of the short term patter. Friday will bring some minor changes. Low level flow will become more strongly southeasterly. This will bring moister air back into the Coastal Plains. Some isolated showers may be possible starting Friday afternoon. This pattern will remain in place over the weekend and into next week. Moister air will gradual spread farther inland. Isolated showers will be possible each afternoon Sunday through Tuesday. High temperatures through the long term will be persistently above normal. Lows will warm from the start of the period reaching above normal by the weekend.

&&

.AVIATION... (18Z TAFS) Issued at 1227 PM CDT Tue Sep 30 2025

VFR conditions under mostly clear skies are forecast through the period. Wind remains light through the period around or under 6 knots with SE wind along the Rio Grande and E to NE wind elsewhere.

&&

.FIRE WEATHER... Issued at 126 PM CDT Tue Sep 30 2025

With minimum humidities 30% or less each day under ample sunshine, vegetation will continue to dry. Although wind speeds should be 10 mph or less, the drying conditions will make the environment more vulnerable to fire starts.
