.DISCUSSION... Issued at 1206 AM CDT Tue Sep 9 2025

Mainly quiet and cool conditions are ongoing across the Natural State early this Tue morning...with most areas seeing temps drop again into the 50s and 60s so far. A weak upper wave is passing SE over SRN MO...with mainly some increased clouds noted...though some diminishing precip was seen over NERN OK. Expect any remaining activity to dissipate this morning...or remain west of AR...with lows dropping down into the 50s for most areas. Some upper 40s will be possible in the more sheltered valley areas.

Dry conditions and light winds will continue for Mon as flow aloft will continue from the NW over the region. Moisture levels will remain low...allowing afternoon temps to warm into the mid 70s to mid 80s...or a couple deg warmer than seen on Mon afternoon.

Weak SRLY flow will return for Wed...though a new...fast moving upper wave will drop SE over the region Wed into Wed night. Temps will warm a few more deg for Wed as a result of the SRLY winds...but should see a bit more cloud cover on Wed with this upper wave. Should still see dry conditions...given no significant moisture return ahead of the upper wave. Even so...wouldn`t be completely surprised to see an isolated SHRA/TSRA Wed evening/night. Most areas should remain dry though.

Flow aloft will transition from NWRLY to a more NRLY direction by late this week as an upper ridge of high pressure expands to the west of AR. This upper ridge looks to drift east over AR by this weekend. Temps will warm by late this week into the weekend...with above normal conditions expected into early next week. No major chances for rainfall are expected however...especially with the upper ridge overhead. The upper ridge may then shift east and weaken by late in the forecast...with temps starting to slowly cool starting early next week.
