.DISCUSSION...

Through early Wednesday: We have one more full day of relatively
humid conditions with scattered showers in store across the area.
But first, the moist airmass and light winds are contributing to
the development of low clouds and fog across portions of the area
early this morning. A Dense Fog Advisory has been posted for
portions of central/south MS and central LA. There has also been
fog noted across northeast LA, southeast AR, and northwest MS
overnight, and we will monitor through the morning hours for
potential adjustments to the advisory area. Conditions will
improve by mid-late morning.
Otherwise, the mesolow that drove more focused shower activity on
Monday has shifted northward into the Mid South and appears less
likely to organize locally heavy banded rainfall in our area
today. Nevertheless, with a cold front slowly advancing from the
north and PW as high as 2" in parts of the area, scattered showers
and isolated thunderstorms are expected again. While these will
be primarily diurnal in nature, isolated showers could persist
into tonight. Drier air will start to infiltrate from the north by
Wednesday morning, which will begin to shut off rain chances from
north to south. Enough moisture may still linger for isolated
showers in southeast MS during the daytime Wednesday.
Wednesday afternoon through Monday: The weak cold front will
continue to shift southward across the area late Wednesday into
Thursday, bringing a noticeable decrease in moisture and humidity.
This will significantly limit rain chances over the remainder of
the week into early next week. While temperature change will be
less significant behind the front, and the drier air will allow
daytime temperatures to remain close to normal, overnights and
mornings should be noticeably cooler, albeit still near seasonal

As of 0546Z Tuesday, GTR is reporting MVFR ceilings and HBG is
currently reporting LIFR conditions. All of the other TAF sites
are reporting VFR ceilings to start off the TAF period. VFR
ceilings will continue through 08Z Tuesday. Between 09Z-13Z
multiple TAF sites will see ceilings drop to IFR/possible LIFR due
to low stratus and patchy FG. Ceilings will begin to improve to
MVFR status by 14Z Tuesday. Conditions will continue to improve to
VFR status by 18Z Tuesday with scattered SHRA. VFR ceilings will
prevail across all TAF sites through 00Z Wednesday. Amendments may
be necessary through the overnight period as conditions begin to
