.DISCUSSION... (Tonight through next Saturday) Issued at 1130 PM CDT Sat Sep 27 2025
00Z upper air analysis and GOES Water Vapor satellite trends show an upper-level trough over the Eastern United States while an upper-level ridge extends up into the northern Plains. Mostly clear skies are prevailing across the Lower Mississippi Valley late this evening with 10 PM temperatures in the 60s at most locations.
The aforementioned upper-level ridge will build east into the Middle and Lower Mississippi Valley over the next seven days. This will result in temperatures in the upper 80s to approaching 90 degrees through mid-week. Latest model trends keep Tropical Depression Nine further off the Atlantic Coast. Thus, confidence remains very low for tropical moisture producing any rain showers across areas near the Tennessee River and northeast Mississippi. Slightly cooler temperatures are expected for the remainder of the week into next weekend.
