- Near-record high temperatures expected for Monday, the first day of Autumn, and possibly the warmest day the rest of the year.
- Low (10-30%) storm chances return Tuesday afternoon and evening across the eastern Permian Basin, Lower Trans Pecos, and Davis Mountains. The primary threats for the strongest storms will be brief heavy rainfall, lightning, and gusty winds.
- A cold front intrudes upon the area Tuesday night and Wednesday, bringing temperatures to near/slightly below normal. Rain chances will increase to around 20-40% during this timeframe. High gap winds will be possible in Guadalupe Pass Wednesday and Wednesday night.
