.DISCUSSION... Issued at 311 AM CDT Fri Sep 26 2025
Water vapor imagery shows the upper ridge axis is now over the Plains, in between two cut-off lows over the Southwest and Southeast CONUS. This ridge will park itself over the Plains for much of the next week, locking in warm and dry conditions across the area. Under the ridge with surface high pressure nearby, each day will see highs in the low/mid 80s and lows in the mid/upper 50s. May see an increase in clouds Monday into Tuesday as the southwestern upper low lifts northeast over the High Plains and becomes sheared out. But otherwise skies will stay mostly clear. When combined with light winds and shallow surface moisture, this should allow for some more shallow ground fog most mornings. Similar to what we`ve seen yesterday and so far this morning, fog should mainly stay confined to the typically favored spots - low lying areas and near bodies of water.
