.SHORT TERM... (This evening through Tuesday) Issued at 130 PM CDT Mon Sep 15 2025
Isolated showers and thunderstorms are possible across mainly the Big Country this afternoon and early evening. Dry conditiions are forecast to prevail across much of the rest of the area as an upper level ridge centered across northern Mexico suppresses any convection. Expect overnight lows in the 60s. The aforementioned upper level ridge will result in hot and mainly dry conditions on Tuesday. Highs will be close to seasonal normals, in the upper 80s to lower 90s.

.LONG TERM... (Tuesday night through next Monday) Issued at 130 PM CDT Mon Sep 15 2025
An upper level trough will move southeast into the central U.S. on Wednesday. The upper low is then expected to sit over the northern plains for much of the week, before pushing off to the east late this weekend. With this low to our north and high pressure building to our southeast, we`ll see generally northwest/west winds aloft, which will bring through a series of upper level disturbances. At the surface, a weak frontal system is expected to move near the area Thursday into Friday. This front will have minimal impacts on temperatures, but it could help focus rain chances a bit. With these two systems, isolated convection is expected in the afternoons from Thursday into Sunday. However, widespread activity and rainfall are not expected this week.
