The upper ridge will begin to shift eastward. Main effect will be continued dry conditions, and a slight decrease in daytime temperatures of degree or two, as scattered high clouds move in from the west. Highs will be mainly in the upper 80s. Weak surface ridging will continue with mainly light east to southeast winds less than 10 mph. Lows tonight will be mild, in the upper 50s to lower 60s.

.LONG TERM... (Monday night through next Sunday) Issued at 1222 PM CDT Sun Sep 28 2025

A weak slow-moving upper level trough will move northeast across Texas Monday afternoon through Tuesday. The main outcome of this will be and increase in cloud cover across the area. After the trough moves east, upper level ridging is expected to move back over west central Texas through the end of the week. This will result in a dry forecast with gradually warming temperatures. Highs will be back in the lower 90s by the end of the week, with lows generally in the low to mid 60s. Winds will generally be light and south-southeasterly.
