.SYNOPSIS... An upper level disturbance will lead to the potential for a few light rain showers today. High pressure and a drier airmass will build into the region through the first part of the upcoming week.
&&
.NEAR TERM /UNTIL 6 AM SUNDAY MORNING/... Clouds will continue to diminish with the loss of heating. But as a short wave pivots into the area overnight, clouds will increase again. Overnight lows remain unseasonably cool under NW flow in the mid/upper 40s outside of the urban areas, where lows will be near 50. Areas of fog expected especially in the river valleys where todays showers occurred.
&&
.SHORT TERM /6 AM SUNDAY MORNING THROUGH SUNDAY NIGHT/... Surface high pressure returns to the region under continued upper level NW flow continuing the below normal. The airmass will also become increasingly drier. Highs will be in the upper 60s to lower 70s in the southeast, with Sunday night lows getting to within a few degrees of record lows in the mid to lower 40s.
&&
.LONG TERM /MONDAY THROUGH SATURDAY/... High pressure will remain in place through the long term allowing for an extended stretch of dry weather. High temperatures will be in the 60s and 70s with lows in the 40s and 50s. PLenty of sunshine through the week along with relatively light winds.
&&
.AVIATION /23Z SATURDAY THROUGH THURSDAY/... Clouds in the 6-8kft range will become fewer in the early part of the TAF period but then increase in coverage once again after 06Z. These clouds will scatter again during the day Sunday. Cannot rule out some visibility restrictions at KLUK if clouds remain sparse there for a long enough period of time. Otherwise, VFR prevails. West northwest winds will decrease early and then back as they become light. Winds will become west northwest again on Sunday at 10 kt or less.
OUTLOOK...No significant weather expected.
